My name is Chris Davis. I was born in Southampton in 1963. I've had a love of art since I was young, mostly drawing and painting and a little bit of photography. My father had a darkroom at home where i was able to explore the realms of black and white photography, multiple exposures, airbrushing and photo retouching and manipulation. Nowadays it has all been made so much easier with the computer.
Since I left school I have been working as a chef. At this point in my life I seemed to veer off to the world of drawing and painting, mainly science fiction and fantasy pictures from my imagination, this continued for many years.
In 2004 I got my first digital camera, it was a Fuji Finepix S7000, and was enough to capture my imagination, although with a slow start up time and shutter-lag I soon wanted to trade it in for a digital SLR. At that time Canon had the EOS 300D which was well rated in the Digital Photo magazine, so the upgrades began.
I moved to Plymouth in 2006 and didn't have as much time for photography as I would have liked, but I did join the local camera club at Plymstock in 2007, and to my amazement won some of their competitions. I have 2 trophies to my name and have completed a wedding and portrait course at the R.H.Davenport school of photography.
2009, I moved to Scotland, living on the shores of Loch Fyne, a great place for landscape and seascape photography. So armed with top quality kit and the latest imac computer and photoshop, I found I could now combine my love of art and photography, taking it to an ever expanding level that I never would have dreamed of, using photography as my chosen medium.
2015 and another New Beginning for me, I have recently moved to Lincolnshire, near the town of Sleaford, its time to ascend again, moving up to having my own studio and photographic business
I do hope you enjoy the images I have produced and would be delighted if you left a message. All feedback is gratefully received. Thank you.
